please please please teach your children to cook while they still live under your roof. even the most elementary things can’t be overlooked. because i just had to show my 24 year old boyfriend how to use a potato peeler and now i need to lay down for an hour

My parents: “You’re 19, why don’t you know how to [insert basic cooking skill here]?”

Me: “You?? Never taught me???”

The state of the apartments that I saw in college was complete neglect of parents teaching their children, sons, daughters, etc, basic life skills. Cleaning basics. Cooking basics. Your toilet should not be pink with bacteria. You should not eat ez Mac every night.

Teach your sons and daughters how to survive. That is your literal job as a parent.
