Dark Souls is defined by its absence of anything resembling life. Miyazaki made a world that is almost utterly devoid of growth or flourishing at all. Everything is in the final stages of rot and decay, reduced to the cracking skeleton of what it once was. And not just metaphorically; the stone and grass and trees and just…everything about it are so terribly dry.
Bloodborne though? Bloodborne is fuckin dripping wet. The stone in central yharnam? Wet. The bosses? Wet. The weapons? Wet. The combat? Wet. The plot points? Wet. The way it’s so utterly obsessed with liquid, fresh death, gore, and a city in the midst of ruin, rather than having died off long ago? Wet.
Making a new post again because our roommate seemed intent on sabotaging the last one: we’re getting kicked out again. We thought we had two weeks, but thats being cut down pretty hard. We cannot afford to stay in a hotel and feed ourselves and still hope to lease an apartment. Our dogs are going to have to stay at my girlfriend’s work until we can figure something out. We’re running out of options, and will likely have to sleep in the car for a while. Please, anything helps.
My cashapp is $grimeclown and my venmo is @grimeclown
UPDATE: we are safe for the time being. Isis was able to bring her dogs to work and her boss was kind enough to let her keep them there for a couple weeks, and we managed to find a family member we could spend those next couple weeks with. Because of your kindness and help, we should absolutely be able to afford to get a hold of a place, and keep ourselves fed in the meantime. Thank all of you so much
The cocker spaniel is prone to ear infections, so she needs a solution squirted down her ear canal and massaged in on a regular basis. She absolutely HATES it, but she endures it because she’s a good girl and she knows she gets treats after.
The border collie does NOT have ear issues, and doesn’t need the solution, but every time I’ve finished doing the cocker spaniel’s ears, he comes slinking up to me with his tail between his legs and an expression like “It is my turn for the ear torture. 😔😔 do your worst. 😔😔😔” and he will KEEP ACTING LIKE THAT until I put the closed nozzle of the ear solution into his ear and tip it upside down and massage his ear for a bit. Then I tell him he’s done and he immediately turns delighted, because “oh, wow, I survived the ear torture, and now I’m just vibrating with delight at my survival, wow, that was rough, but I made it through”
At literally no stage did we ever tell him he needed his ears done. He just saw the cocker spaniel getting it done, and was like, “oh. 😔 ear medicine for all of us 😔”
This made me cry. I wish all situations could be handled as perfectly as this
I just want to point out the core of what the diffuser did in this conversation
They recognized that the mother was also expressing a vulnerable truth about herself - that she felt like a bad mother because her child was expressing gender feelings she wasn’t equipped to help with - and met her where she was, a concerned parent with limited information - to point her where she should be heading, research and resources.
Im going to make more of an effort to stop reflexively pushing people away when they express biases and make more of an effort to hear the underlying fears when i can
“it’s easier to love ourselves when we feel loved as ourselves”
unfortunately, due to several experiences in my youth, i cannot just “walk up and join the circle of people talking”, but it does sound lovely thank you
